In General what you can do

Get educated:

Do your research, learn as much as you can about the topic, research the history, consult with people with expertise on the topic.

Letters to:

  • Local Municipal government,
  • Provincial government,
  • Federal Government,
  • Government agencies and ministries
  • The company or business of concern The editor of your local newspapers, magazines, local media, and other newspapers that circulate
  • Larger organizations, such as Nature Canada, Nature Conservancy Canada, etc.

Lobby:

  • Educate and inform your community and government of your concerns.
  • Present your concerns to local municipal government, provincial MPP, federal MP.
  • Engage local organizations who have similar interest in preserving/protecting the area.
  • Focus on the positive, use the momentum of where you want to go rather than making it into a fight. Avoid words like: war against, battle, fight, don’t want.
  • Have a better alternative, ask for what you want, not what you don’t want.

Lots of people may be negative, and think "it can’t be done” but remember,
