North American Bat Monitoring Program

A trilateral agreement between Canada, the United States and Mexico to work together to protect migratory bats is a good step towards a cooperative effort in conservation.  Let's hope this will have a positive affect on strengthing bat populations.

Fort Collins Science Centre believes, "A statistically rigorous and nationally coordinated bat monitoring program is critical for determining the impacts of the many stressors on bat populations, as well as for determining the efficacy of management actions taken to conserve bat populations (i.e., adaptive management)."

The National Military Fish and Wildlife Association has a PowerPoint presentation explaining the North American Bat Monitoring Program.
